Our DSO Choice — Sell to a DSO
might be right for you if ...

Your practice collections are above the minimal requirements of DSOs
You prefer to sell and remain on post-closing long-term as a compensated associate
Your practice is located within a geographical area attractive to DSOs
You prefer to sell and cash out now to invest the proceeds while maintaining an equity ownership portion to share in the growth value of the practice when sold again in the near future

Commission Free

Provides dentists with comparative DSO choices that offer the highest purchase price, the best fit based on needs, and the most desirable post-closing employment terms - commission free. DSO Choice saves time and money by handling all of the preliminary leg work, while allowing dentists to focus on what matters - dentistry.

Are you thinking of selling to a DSO?

DSO Choice Benefits

All of the Traditional Choice benefits plus:

  • Competition for Your Practice

DSO qualifying practices are in high demand, and the DSOs are committed to acquiring your practice rather than losing it to another DSO. We introduce your practice to several DSOs in order to create competition, to generate the highest sale price, and to secure the best post-sale compensation and benefit packages for you.

  • Commission Free

We negotiate the highest sale prices in the industry, commission free to our Seller. Some of our competitors may try to convince you that it’s not really commission free because we are being paid by the DSO. That is simply not true. A commission is a one-time expense to the DSO, and not a recurring expense affecting the EBITDA calculations used to determine the sale price. The proof is in the pudding. We have been engaged by some sellers, after receiving their “best offer” from another DSO, and have successfully secured higher offers, commission free.

  • No Risk

Let Choice do all the leg work for you - risk free. It is very timely and costly for you to interview numerous DSOs and to prepare the marketing materials they request for review. It is even more confusing trying to understand all the different DSO models and post-closing structures. We will present you with the DSO options that best fit your needs and goals. If you are not satisfied with their offer, or you decide the DSO structure is not the right fit for you, there is no cost or obligation to continue.

  • Monitor Your DSO Options

Our job is to continually analyze the DSOs models, to monitor who is offering the best overall package, and to negotiate the best deal for our clients.

    • Just because your colleague sold to a specific DSO, does not mean that that is the best choice for you. The DSO market is constantly changing.
    • There are several long-established DSOs, as well as many new DSOs who have entered the marketplace with models for post-closing structure that are very seller friendly, and who are paying multiples higher than ever before. Many offering ownership or equity opportunity for additional future gain.
    • With so many DSOs competing, and so many different models to choose from, we have discovered that the offer price and post-closing packages often vary depending on location and timing. Therefore, DSO Brand “A” may have the best offer/fit in one month, but DSO Brand “B” may offer the best overall package the next month.
  • Dedicated Team of DSO Experts

We have put together a dedicated team of experienced advisors with relevant backgrounds to the DSO market. Our experts will calculate your practice EBITDA (worth), guide you through the maze of DSO options and offer structures, and negotiate the best deal that fits your wants, needs and goals.

Our Commitment

  • Timely and expedient communication. Your questions and inquiries are very important to us, and a timely response is a must. We pride ourselves in getting back to you within 24 hours. You will always have access to our team members at our corporate office who will be happy to assist, even when your local Consultant isn’t available.
  • Personalized & confidential consultation. We realize that your practice is one of your most valuable assets, and we act accordingly. You may have questions about the process, timeline, evaluation, current market trends, and overall transition strategy. Our Consultants will arrange a face-to-face or virtual meeting with you, at your convenience when your office is closed and no staff or patients are present. During this meeting, our consultants will tour your office, interview you to determine your preferred transitional goals, as well as answer any other questions you may have. Furthermore, we can assure you that confidentiality is key during the entire process to ensure your staff and patient retention.
  • Ongoing updates to keep you informed. During the listing process, your Choice Consultant will update you frequently as to the number of potential buyers inquiring about your opportunity, the positive or negative feedback those potential candidates are relaying about the practice, and comparable sales within your geographical area. This type of immediate feedback is invaluable in advising you during this transitional phase, and allows for more effective communication and collaboration during the sale process.
  • Guided Practice Showings. We strongly believe a selling dentist shouldn’t show their own practice to potential buyers without expert guidance. Our Consultants will make every reasonable attempt to be present for practice showings, when feasible, or will consult with you and the buyers in advance as to what actions to take at such meetings. Choice Consultants have worked with thousands of buyers and have completed over 1,000 transitions. They know what buyers find important, what to focus on, and how to help them better understand the best qualities of your practice.
  • We Are On Your Side. At Choice, our Consultants only represent one party, YOU, unlike some other brokers who represent both the buyer and seller, or are the CPA for the seller, both of which we believe are a HUGE conflict of interest. We will work with the buyers and their advisors to ensure a smooth and successful transition, but our sole fiduciary responsibility is to our sellers. Additionally, some dental brokers are also the dental equipment company for your practice. At Choice, we market to ALL buyers despite any affinity to what equipment company they prefer, creating a larger market for your practice.
